Prescriptions can be obtained in the following ways:
1. In person - there are collection boxes in the entrance at Cambridge Avenue and in the waiting room at Messingham surgery. There is also a collection box at Unity Pharmacy.
2. Online - there are two ways to request these online
a) using the SystmOnline website. Please note you must be registerted to access this service.
b) National NHS App - available to all patients for further information on the app please click here
3. By telephone - 01724 749388. This is an answerphone facility and you will need the following details when ringing: name, date of birth, telephone number, name of medicines required. Note this line is open 24/7. Please do not call the surgery directly as they cannot process this request.
4. By email - hnyicb-nl.b81022.prescriptions@nhs.net
Nominated Pharmacy (ETP) - you can request that your prescription goes from your GP surgery to your nominated pharmacy electronically. For further information on this service, please ask at your preferred pharmacy or go to the following website http://systems.hscic.gov.uk/eps/patients.

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
