Missed appointments result in wasted clinical time and reduce the availability of appointments for other patients who need to be seen. We therefore ask all patients to contact the surgery as soon as possible if they are unable to attend a booked appointment.
If a patient does not attend an appointment and fails to notify the practice in advance, the surgery may take appropriate action. This may include contacting the patient by SMS, telephone, or letter to establish the reason for the missed appointment.
Where a patient repeatedly misses appointments without providing adequate notice, the matter may be reviewed by the practice clinical team. In exceptional circumstances, where multiple appointments are missed within a 12‑month period, removal from the practice list may be considered in line with NHS guidance and the practice's removal policy.
To cancel an appointment, please contact the surgery on 01724 842415 and speak to a receptionist.
Alternatively, if you have access to your online services via SystmOnline or the NHS App, you may be able to view and cancel your appointment online where appropriate.
Thank you for helping us make the best use of available appointments for all patients.
